Happy 32nd Anniversary, Mom and Dad! 🖤🖤🖤

Boop.

I’m a actor/photographer, and admittedly, I despise being in front of the camera.

Until today.

For the first time in at least 10 years I didn’t look at a picture of my body and cringe. Do you understand how major that is? (Backstory: I gained about 50 pounds after I stopped swimming competitively, and that certainly didn’t do wonders for my self-confidence. To make matters worse, the weight crept on during my senior year of high school, aka. ‘the prime of my life.’ Lovely.)

People reassure me all the time, “You look fine!” or, “What are you even talking about?” It’s just one of those things–that weight wasn’t something I did on purpose; it was something that happened by mistake. I simply wasn’t in control, which is bothersome.

But I have the reigns now. And I’m committed to a lifestyle of intent: achieving the things I have set my mind to, no matter the odds.

So, to anyone reading this that might feel the same way… I get it. And it gets better, if you want it to.

(And of course, Happy 56th, Jamaica! 🇯🇲 #onelove.)

Sharipalooza 2018!

Hi! I turned 26 on May 27th, and boy, was it one for the books… What is life 😅.

Day One: Sage Atlanta Buckhead.

I cut off the split ends of 25! There were clearly a lot of split ends…

Also, I was supposed to be at a different restaurant, but the power went out fifteen minutes before our reservation. Yikes.

Day Two: Daydreams Atlanta & Tom, Dick, and Hank.

I was supposed to be on a boat (but the weather ruined my plans), so we went to Daydreams Atlanta. This place was so incredibly adorable ☺.

S Q U A D. (Reservations for brunch in ATL, even if you have a section and a minimum, are for two hours, and two hours only. Noted.)

CRAB LEGS!

Even some of my family showed up! Yay!

Day Three: The Memorial Day Pool Party.

Grill Mistress 💃🏾

This little girl was the life of the party, contrary to her face in this picture.

And that’s a wrap! ‘Til next year, y’all!

LIVE NOW!

Looking Back, Graduation Edition

Graduation is easily my favorite time of year: it’s my birthday month (🎉), it’s not too hot, people are about to embark on the journey of their lives… The energy is contagious. As I look back on the past few years, I reflect on my stint at UF; I’ve had so many fond memories taking pictures of grads, watching as their careers unfold… This one is for the graduates of grad’s past: I hope everything is well 🙌🏾.

Things are getting serious over here: finally created a Facebook page for my acting, wrote a scene, and then put it on camera. Haha, enjoy 🙃😂.

BEADSSS

FINALLY got my tiny hands on these beignets 🙏🏾 (Did they live up to the hype? Absolutely.)

And last but not least, a video! Trying a little something new:

Oh hey, Jay.

JayIsJo is back! Incredibly excited about sharing this shoot with you; it was a labor of love, and I’m pleased with the results 😋. (MUA: CrystalJBeats!)

Fun fact: We shot this under the overpass where I-85 burned down in ATL last year.
